The First Aid at Work (FAW) refresher and re-qualification is an easy way for organisations and companies to ensure that their qualified staff remain current without attending a full 3 day First Aid at Work training course. It ensures organisations meet the requirements of the relevant legislation and makes the process of maintaining your first aid cover more cost effective for your business.
The course is designed to allow those already qualified in first aid at work to refresh and update their skills and knowledge by covering all aspects of both the primary and secondary survey of the casualty. We recommend that candidates attend the course within two weeks of their current certificate expiring.
Our first aid refresher course ensures that candidates are brought up to speed with the latest changes in first aid and the reasoning behind any first aid protocol changes. Candidates will cover the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations and the management, communication and care of a casualty (including contact with emergency services). As well as completing those subjects covered in the syllabus for the one day Emergency First Aid at Work training course the candidate will receive refresher training in the following:
|Resuscitation (adult CPR) Inclusive (AED)||Recovery position|
|Heart attack||Bleeds (minor – major)|
|Asthma||Suspected spinal injury|
|Bones, muscles & joints||Poisoning|
|Eye injuries||Chest injury|
The First Aid at Work Refresher & Requalification course is a 2 day course lasting approximately 7 hours per day (depending on group size) starting at 08:30 am and finishing at 4:30 pm.
Candidates will receive continuous practical assessment throughout the training day and will be required to sit and pass a multi-choice question paper to gain the re-qualification. A basic level of both spoken and written English will be required.
On successful completion of the training course the candidate will receive a industry recognised First Aid at Work Certificate which is valid for three years.
Refreshments are provided on this course and are included in the course fee.
